Our latest story was just published by BoomerCafe.com, the top U.S. website for Baby Boomers where we submit a monthly story updating readers at BoomerCafe on our travels. This month’s story shares our transition from Croatia and getting settled in Spain, an effort still in progress. Link here for our story and perhaps some other articles you might enjoy as well.
Stay tuned for updates as we move into our new apartment in Torrevieja on February 21st, the day before my birthday. What a gift! And after we settle we have much more of Spain to see and to share. La Vida aquí es marveloso!
Fun piece, Mike, with some of the details from earlier posts. Good for you, spreading the word!
This is sort of a transition piece while we prepare to make the permanent move to Torrevieja in a week. After that we will be settled and ready to begin our local exploration in earnest. This month in Alicante was a nice respite from the busy work of playing tourist and moving from one country to another. Thank you for following along. – Mike
I can’t wait to hear more! I am loving Spain so far. My Friday Fictioneers this week is set in Barcelona. ;-D
So happy that life is treating you marvelously, Mike! Looking forward to the places you will see and walk to. I am sure the markets are filled with Valencia oranges, delicious foods and wines available, too. I just hope la vida es nada (nunca?) loco! (bad Spanish!) It will get a little crazy around my little apartment, before the end of the weekend, taking on grandkids while their parents go out! Or… maybe I can go to their homes and mess them up?! Smiles, robin
We have captured some of the local flavor of Alicante, and I will share a bit more detail soon. Once we established our base in Torrevieja we will get back in our routine of exploring the countryside. I look forward to visiting Seville, Granada and Cordoba, and I hope we make it to the north coast. That will be a good Spring or early summer trip. And of course, the ABC tour will take us to the famous pilgrimage site of Santiago, the terminus of the Camino de Santiago. Happy Valentines Day, and have fun with the grandchildren. – Mike
Just in case that I don’t remember on Feb. 22nd, may I offer you an early wish for a special and happy birthday, Mike? I also forgot to tell you how proud I am of your being discovered by the Croatians’ chamber of commerce, choice to promote their country and now, your writing about your travels in this other venue. Congrats and God bless you, Mike! Robin
You are definitely the first with the birthday wishes. Thank you, Robin. Florence gets the credit for getting us ‘discovered’ thanks to the effort she dedicates to Twitter, LinkedIn and the various other social networking sites. We are trying to build our 6 Monthers brand so that product and service providers will eventually want to partner with us.
Congrats Mike on getting your article published. I also see that it’s not the first. Well done! ~James
Thank you, James. The guys running BoomerCafé.com connected with Florence via LinkedIn. Thanks to her constant attention to the social media sites, we have made some excellent contacts. – Mike
The photographs accompanying the article are beautiful! Best wishes on your latest move.
I will tell my wife you liked the photos. I only use five or six per article. If you are interested in perusing our albums, they are categorized by location on our Facebook page – 6 Monthers-6monthers.com. Thank you. – Mike
Excellent! I’d like to see more.
A little bird (a Robin, to be exact) tells me that you’ve got an upcoming birthday Mike. I hope it’s a happy one! I also want to tell you that I think it is so cool that you’re being published in BoomerCafe.com – that’s awesome! Celeste 🙂
Yes, Florence’s efforts in the social networking arena have increased our exposure. We submit articles regularly to two, sometimes three different outlets just to promote our brand beyond our little blog world. Thank you, Celeste. Don’t you just love Robin! 🙂 – Mike
Great blog, but how about sharing some details about where you found your host family or what sources are best for others looking for apartment rentals etc. Some small practical tips like that, interwoven into your travelogue, would make it much more useful for others planning similar adventures.
